Last week I went to the theatre.
go to the theatre 表示“去剧院看戏”;last week 明确把全文放在一般过去时里。
I had a very good seat.
seat 这里不是“椅子”本身,而是“位置很好”;have a good seat 常指视野佳。
The play was very interesting.
I did not enjoy it.
A young man and a young woman were sitting behind me.
They were talking loudly.
I got very angry.
get angry 强调“由不生气变得生气”的过程;比 I was angry 更有情绪升级感。
I could not hear the actors.
could not hear 说明生气的原因;hear the actors 是“听到演员的台词/声音”。
I turned round.
I looked at the man and the woman angrily.
They did not pay any attention.
pay attention 是固定搭配;not pay any attention = pay no attention。
In the end, I could not bear it.
in the end 表示“最终”;bear it 指“忍受这种噪音和打扰”。
I turned round again.
'I can't hear a word!'
I said angrily.
'It's none of your business,' the young man said rudely.
It's none of your business
'This is a private conversation!'

课文用 went, had, did not enjoy, got, turned, said 等一般过去时依次推进情节,适合讲“已经发生完”的小故事。

  • I went to the station and bought a ticket.
  • She opened the door and walked into the room.

A young man and a young woman were sitting... / They were talking loudly.

  • The children were playing in the yard when it began to rain.
  • He was reading when I called him.

I got very angry

  • It got dark very quickly.
  • She got nervous before the speech.

none of your business

  • How much do you earn? That's none of your business.
  • Who called you? Sorry, it's none of your business.

  • 精读这课要留意情绪递进:did not enjoy -> got angry -> could not bear it。
  • 短篇复述里可以多用 then, in the end, again 这类时间推进词。
